In the winter, there are quite a few places where you could enjoy a good wine-tasting experience. Even though wine-tasting events typically take place in the summer months, these winter festivals give the avid wine-taster something to look forward to when the weather gets cold. People from all over the world gather at these wine festivals, even in the winter. They bring with them some of the best-tasting types of wine that you’ll find anywhere in the world. For the true wine enthusiast, winter wine-tasting festivals could be the highlight of your years. There are five very interesting wine festivals to choose from.
1. The Boston Wine Festival. In Boston, Massachusetts, several wine-makers bring their best drinks from January through March. If you choose to attend the Boston festival, you’ll get to taste wines from all parts of the world. You can also sit down and have dinner with the people who make the wine and ask them questions about their fine products. This wine event usually goes hand-in-hand with a large food festival in Boston, so this would be a great wine event for you to attend this winter.
2. The New York Wine Expo. Wine aficionados from numerous different countries attend this event yearly. The New York Wine Expo is likely the best winter wine event in the US. In February of each year, over two hundred wine-makers from all around the world bring their best wines to New York, and you get to sample over six hundred different types of wine, if you choose to.
3. Food Network’s South Beach Food and Wine Festival. This great event happens in Miami, Florida each year in February. Celebrity chefs and wine makers show up here and provide visitors with rare dinners, wine-tasting seminars and more great fun. This is usually the same event that takes place in Aspen, Colorado in the summer. The event is sponsored by Food & Wine magazine.
4. The Napa Valley Mustard Festival. In Napa Valley, California, you’ll be able to taste great wine and enjoy some of the best food in the world. This event runs from January to March each year, when the wild mustard is in full bloom in Napa Valley.
5. Yakima Red Wine and Chocolate Festival. In Yakima Valley, Washington, you’ll find an amazing combination of fine red wine and luscious chocolate desserts. This event usually takes place in February of each year.
