From the East coast to the Pacific shores, wineries create great celebratory events for Mom for her special weekend. Some of the elements surrounding that memorable day begin early and continue on through the month of May. Wineries are especially good at celebrating the women who gave us life, changed our diapers, cooked our meals and loved us when no one else did!
Some wineries are especially busy on Mother’s Day and require a reservation, but many do not. Some provide a meal; some offer cheese and crackers, and of course, wine. A list of just a few of the wineries can be created, yet there are the vineyards all over the United States that make it impossible to be all-inclusive. The truth is, many States have vineyards and promote their local wines through wine-tasting events.
Five of the Best Wineries at Mother’s Day:
1. Napa Valley in California is ‘the’ definition of wine country in the United States. Many other sites refer to themselves as ‘wine country’ because these sites are defined as such. Flora Springs Winery is located in Napa Valley and lends itself to being a great experience. If Mom likes Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio or Sangiovese then you may want to consider Flora Springs Winery, which is a big producer of each.”
2. Historic Napa Mill’s Downtown Riverfront could be a very memorable treat for
Mom on her day. Along the downtown riverfront are many live music
performances, art sales, outdoor cafés offering cheese, breads and wine tasting.
Fine cuisine and beautiful hotels are also available along the waterfront.
3. Braunfels, Texas will treat Mom in style! If Mom is a ‘country-girl’ at heart and loves country-style music, then one Saturday a month (possibly Mother’s Day weekend) . Favorite country bands and table dancing in the shade are featured at Groovin’ in the Grapes at Dry Comal Creek Vineyard on that special Saturday each month. Traveling food vendors adorn the local scene.
4. The Charlottesville area touts many vineyards that put together very special events for Mother’s Day. The State of Virginia is into wineries and verandas, where you can sit with Mom and witness the wonderful surrounding landscape. Of course, there are wines of various types.
5. Lakeridge Winery in Clermont, Florida consists of 127 acres of beautiful vineyards in the central part of the State. They offer 7 day/week wine-tasting and special events and festivals throughout the year.
Wines served with homemade breads, various cheeses, chocolate truffles, olives and other imaginative treats can be something very special for Mom on her day.
